33 Shadow, sun-splash, shimmer, shade

33

Shadow, sun-splash, shimmer, shade:

poplars blink in my side-long eye.

Schoolrooms are murmuring, the staid

Voices afloat in the flowing sky.

At the desks the lessons are dinned,

but wordless in that window’s wind,

poplars darken, poplars grow bright,

fluent with the drift of light.
