We give the children what they cannot learn

We give the children what they cannot learn,
what innocence already understands.
Not in our rules and stories do they discern
the Truth.  They are in creation's hands.
We give the children what they cannot learn.

There's is another gospel.  See how it shines
in their eyes.  That is their Sunday school.
We are but prompters in the play, the lines
set down by an Author we cannot overrule.
We give the children what they cannot learn.
